On the 7th and 8th of June, 2006, the Teaching and Research Institute of the Sírio and Libanês Hospital, hosted a widely attended meeting which brought together academic scientific representatives from some of the principal institutions in the country, as well as industrial and other delegates, to discuss the theme "Preclinical trials: existing national competence." Analysis of the subject was carried out by working groups, who examined various aspects of the question, and the results are compiled in the report now presented.
