This article investigates the commitment of the disciplines of the curricula of Agricultural Sciences (Agronomic Engineering and Forestry Engineering), Environmental Management and Administration of the Luiz de Queiroz College of Agriculture (ESALQ - USP) with the academic training of rural extension workers, from the perspective of the Law of ATER, No. 12.188/2010. It is an interdisciplinary study between the area of environmental sciences, its distinct dimensions (political, social, historical, and cultural) and the area of education. The basic hypothesis of this study is that the institutional culture of ESALQ, guided by its own history and linked to that of the founding of the University of São Paulo (USP), influences the construction of a curricular structure with a strong productivism and elitist foundation, providing a formative bias. for future agents of technical assistance and rural extension, who will be able to act both in the public and private spheres. Through an idiosyncratic methodological process between the bibliographic research and the Critical Discourse Analysis (CDA) theory, elements of cultural capital inherent to the historical and sociopolitical context of USP and ESALQ were found, which influence specific forms of knowledge in the design of the respective resumes.
