Resumo

A técnica da cromatografia contracorrente é aqui apresentada como uma ferramenta eficiente, rápida e econômica de obtenção de padrões de origem vegetal com alto grau de pureza. São discutidos alguns aspectos da escolha dos sistemas de solventes adequados além de exemplos de isolamento e purificação de substâncias naturais de importância farmacêutica tais como flavonóides de Ginkgo biloba, saponinas de Centella asiatica e Ginseng, antraquinonas, etc.
